Jennifer has been nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for “American Hustle”! In addition to that, she’s nominated in Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for “American Hustle”!

Now for her next trick, Jennifer Lawrence will move behind the camera—while remaining in front of the camera!

The Oscar winner is slated to star in the true-life drama The Rules of Inheritance and serve as one of the film’s producers.

Based on the memoir of the same name by Claire Bidwell Smith, who chronicled the experience of losing both of her parents within seven years after they’re both diagnosed with cancer, the film is set to be directed by Susanne Bier.

So apparently Lawrence’s tour de force performance in Silver Linings Playbook was just a warm-up for this emotional roller coaster… (more…)

Looks like Jennifer is going to be working with director David O. Russell for a third time!

Oscar nominee David O. Russell has committed to reunite with Jennifer Lawrence on the drama The Ends of the Earth, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The Silver Linings Playbook filmmaker has come aboard to direct the Weinstein Co. drama, a fact-based love story about a powerful oil tycoon who has everything stripped from him after he is caught in an affair. Russell could tackle the project after his next movie, an untitled drama he will film in New York and Boston beginning in March with Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Amy Adams. Lawrence is slated to have a cameo in that movie.

Russell clearly enjoys staffing his movies with familiar faces.

“Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease,” Russell tells THR in a statement. “She is that kind of person.”

He continues: “She is the most dedicated person I know. She is devoted to her family, and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless, and she always makes it look easy.”

The film is being produced by Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal of Escape Artists and was written by Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio.

“Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most versatile actresses we have ever seen,” Black and Tisch tell THR in a joint statement. “Her performance in Silver Linings was transcendent and was truly the heart and soul of the film. Jennifer was basically asked to play four personalities — depressed, sexy, romantic and a wild dancer — and did them all brilliantly. After seeing that performance, we knew we had our anchor for Ends of the Earth. Her dedication to the craft and all those who work with her is inspiring — and if she is the future of our business, we are certainly in good hands.”

Russell and Lawrence are both repped by CAA.

This sounds great, and has an amazing cast. Congrats Jennifer! Can’t wait!

Jennifer Lawrence will reunite with her Silver Linings Playbook director David O Russell on the latter’s forthcoming conman drama about the Abscam sting operation run by the FBI in the late 1970s.

Lawrence, who is Oscar-nominated for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, joins a stellar cast for Russell’s movie, including Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Amy Adams (both of whom worked with Russell on The Fighter), and Jeremy Renner.

Originally titled American Bullshit, the film is based on real-life events that saw the FBI use a known con artist called Melvin Weinberg to pose as an Arab businessman, Kambir Abdul Rahman, and expose corruption of public officials. Russell’s movie is not a direct replication of events, but will see Bale play a conman working with an “out-of-control federal agent” (played by Cooper). Adams is to play Bale’s girlfriend, while Lawrence will play his wife.

The film is shortly to commence shooting, but will not mark Lawrence’s first acting reunion with Cooper – they both starred in Susanne Bier’s Serena, based on Ron Rash’s novel about the depression-era timber wars in North Carolina, due for release in autumn 2013.
